CAPIL GRATEFUL FOR PINEDA’S LEADERSHIP IN COMBATING POGO CRIMES

READ: Porac Mayor Jaime ‘Jing’ Capil thanked to Governor Dennis Pineda for his continued efforts to combat Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO)-related crimes, especially in their municipality.
Capil’s gratitude came after Pineda led the search operation on leisure resort allegedly catering to employees of the raided POGO hubs in Porac and Bamban.

The search led to the discovery of indoor firing range and an underground tunnel, among others.
“Malugod po kaming nagpapasalamat kay Governor Delta Pineda at kay Vice Governor Nanay Pineda sa kanilang patnubay at malasakit sa aming bayan. Patuloy naming susuportahan ang lahat ng mga adhikain para sa ikabubuti ng ating probinsya,” Capil said.
Prior to the search operation over the weekend, Capil said he already directed a Joint Inspection Team (JIT) to conduct an onsite inspection on the premises of the POGO leisure resort as early as June 19, upon the instruction of Governor Dennis Pineda to all mayors to conduct measures against POGOs.

Capil said the JIT coordinated an ocular inspection within the premises of a residence along Daisy St., Purok 6 with barangay officials, and made a visit at the premises on the following day, June 20.
The group, however, were denied entry in the absence of a search warrant at the time, Capil said.
The mayor said the JIT were prevented by the property’s caretaker, a certain Mr. Daniel Salcodo, from entering the residence on the advice of Atty. Toni Co.

Capil said he then coordinated the matter to Captain John Paul Zapanta, head of the local police.
He said he requested assistance from the Porac PNP “to verify the existence of said POGO activities within the area” of Barangay Siñura.

On Saturday, July 6, the authorities led by Pineda, now armed with a search warrant, was able to enter the premises and conduct an operation, Capil said.

Capil disclosed that the residence in Barangay Siñura was first owned by an American national who sold it to the RMM Corporation who in turn sold it to Chinese nationals.

“Hindi po ito binigyan ng building permit ni Mayor Jing Capil o clearance ng barangay pero tuloy-tuloy ang construction,” said Pineda in his Facebook page.

Capil added that two unidentified owners of Whirlwind who are reportedly incorporators of Lucky South 99 were nabbed inside the premises.
