The first “Ablas ning Balas” Festival in Porac Town

The new festival aims to acknowledge nature’s generosity, suggesting that the sand or “balas” in Kapampangan, is not just a raw material but a reward from nature that supports and enriches human life.

Mayor Jaime “Jing” Capil led the launching ceremonies on Friday, July 19, along with his wife Leny Capil, who served as the co-chairperson of the festival.

Also present during the event were Vice Mayor Francis Tamayo and members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and Department of Tourism Central Luzon Regional Director Richard Daenos.

The Bayung Porac Performing Arts Guild’s Street Dance and Cultural Performance showcased their talent during the event.

The three-day festival, from July 19 to 21, was organized by the Porac Tourism office led by Gem Marimla and Bayung Porac Creative Team headed by Robert Canlas.

Some of the exhibits during the festival include RC Rock Crawkers, decorated trucks, sand products, food and market fair, live bands, fireworks display, hot air balloon night glow, and a 4×4 Off-Road Competition.
